James graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2008 with a Bachelor of Environmental Design. After graduating he gained experience in structural engineering of custom homes and small commercial projects in Denver. While in Denver, Mr. Sloan was a project manager creating detailed and precise construction documents. He was also a field inspector ensuring the accuracy and quality of construction on site.

Since joining Reynolds Ash & Associates in May of 2018, James has been expanding his architectural knowledge and skill base while building upon his structural background. He is also working to achieve his NCARB hours in preparation for the ARE exam.
